On behalf of the Service family I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the people of Trowbridge and district for their generosity toward the Poppy Appeal once again this year. In the town and surrounding villages, in the shopping centres and supermarkets and door-to-door we have seen volunteers collecting on our behalf. These have included all three cadet organisations, Wessex Rotary, the Women’s Institute and Townswomen’s Guild as well as veterans from all the ex-Service organisations. So far we have collected nearly £26,000 – a sum which leaves me, quite frankly, humbled. Thank you very much indeed.
