Four men raising money for a cancer charity are due to embark on their adventure to the peak of Ben Nevis today.
The Wiltshire quartet have already surpassed their target of £4,400 - a pound for every foot of the mountain, and are now approaching the £6,000 milestone.
The money will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Rowland Boys, 30, is terminally-ill with head and neck cancer and is taking on the challenge with his brother Nick, 34, from Mill Lane, Box.
They are also joined by friends Matthew Warburton, 29, and Robin McGrath, 31.
Mr Boys, who was first diagnosed with cancer when he was just one, said: “Reaching the summit of Ben Nevis has been something I’ve always wanted to do.”
Speaking just days before the challenge, brother Nick said: “We’re feeling really good. We have done a lot of training over the last few weeks and we’re hoping that the weather up there will improve for us. We’re good to go.”
The team were due to leave Box in the early hours of this morning, and expect to reach the summit by Saturday afternoon.
