IF Corsham Centre avoid defeat against Dog & Fox Ashley at Meriton Avenve on Thursday evening then Martin Bradfield’s side will be crowned as Premier Division winners for a fifth successive season. Despite having not lost any of their 20 matches to date, Centre have not been at their best this season.

But they have come good when it mattered most and a point from their match against the Dog & Fox, for whom it will be their final game in the league, will see them beat Dan Lardner's Biddestone Social side to the number one spot for a fourth time in five years.

Even if they lose their two remaining fixtures the Centre should finish at the summit due to their superior goal difference. Dog & Fox, who have never beaten the Centre, would love to go out on a high.

But having lost the reverse fixture 9-0 a fortnight ago and, seeing as the Centre have not lost on home soil in 80 games, it will be a big ask for the Dog & Fox to end their nine-match losing run.

In reality, the home team should chalk up another victory which will guarantee them their 16th trophy since 2004 when their remarkable run started and they lifted the Division Two title and the WG Parr Trophy in the same season.
