Youngsters at two pre-schools have been settling into new surroundings with the start of the new school term.

Bowerhill Pre-School moved from the Boomerang Family Play Centre to the nearby primary school on Halifax Road.

The two to five-year-olds moved in last week, and Hayley Paget, Bowerhill Pre-school supervisor, said: “It feels fantastic. It’s lovely to be part of the school.”

The pre-school runs five days a week, with both morning and afternoon sessions. There are 27 children on their books, with a maximum class of 20 at any one time.

Andrew Matthews, Bowerhill Primary School’s headteacher, said: “It will be lovely to have them.”

In Holt, the pre-school which has been running for more than 40 years in the village hall, also moved into its home at the village school last week.

Committee member Myrthe Edney said: “We have spent many, many years lobbying for this move and we can’t begin to tell you how excited we are.

“The pre-school will finally gain an outdoor play area. We will also be able to do what the parents in Holt have been asking us for years: extend our opening hours.”
