All rubbish bins left unemptied as a result of the recent work to rule' by refuse collectors in west Wiltshire should be cleared by the close of business next Monday, it was announced today.
Collection contractor Cleanaway has advised West Wiltshire District Council that a mop-up operation for missed bins will run alongside the normal daily collections over the next few days. It is also intended to carry out collections on Saturday.
For this one week, the Council has agreed that Cleanaway can mix the contents of green and grey bins together if required to ensure that all bins are cleared as quickly as possible.
Residents are advised to put out either their green or grey bin as usual this week on their normal collection day. Any bins missed last week should be left at the kerbside until they are emptied.
The Council has posted advice about dealing with the possible health and hygiene implications of bins standing out for collection onto its website - visit www.westwiltshire.gov.uk
