YOU could be forgiven for thinking you had double vision at the Calne Twins Club's Messy Day at Lansdowne Hall on Sunday.

About 15 sets of twins and their families, including non-twin siblings, enjoyed the freedom of getting as messy as possible.

Stephanie Sealy, of Calne Twins Club, said: "They had a fantastic time and we were very lucky the weather held out for us.

"Lansdowne Hall had a big paddling pool the children could go in and we had lots of things for them to squirt water at each other with.

"It was just a shame we didn't get any triplets along on the day."

The children made a giant foot painting by running over a piece of parchment paper with paint on their feet. They also learned how to make clay models, dream catchers and marble with paint in the arts and crafts workshops.

Younger children had their own playpen away from their older siblings, where they played with cooked spaghetti dyed different colours and covered with slimy gloop.

Mrs Sealy added: "When you have twins you have the same issues as every other parent but extra ones as well, like how to bath them together without them drowning.

"Also your other children can have issues too because it's easy for them to feel left out if they are not a twin, so it's good to meet other people in the same situation."

This was the first major event for the club and it was such a success they are planning to hold others in the future, including a trip to Cadbury World in October and a Christmas fair.

The club subsidises some trips to make it easier for parents to afford to take their children on days out.
