Wiltshire Council workers and police officers were among those to take part in a charity football contest on Saturday.

The match at John of Gaunt School in Trowbridge, was in aid of the Wiltshire Addiction Support Project (WASP).

WASP run the competition annually to raise funds to continue their work in reforming drug and alcohol addicts.

There was a round-robin of 13 teams with five-a-side games during the day, which ended with the final between WASP A, and Wiltshire Police A.

The winning goal was scored by WASP A, with the police team second and Trowbridge’s Amber House team third.

Andrew Davidson of WASP, said: “Around 150 people attended and we had teams from all over the county and South West. There was a very friendly atmosphere and the teams played in good spirit.”

WASP provides support for both carers and addicts.
