A man is to face trial by jury on two counts of assault and also of having a baseball bat as a weapon.
Terry Caven pleaded not guilty to charges of causing actual bodily harm, common assault and possessing an offensive weapon.
The 23-year-old, of Philip Close, Melksham, is alleged to have committed the offences on January 14.
A judge at Swindon Crown Court heard Caven was said to have had the bat as an offensive weapon in Ruskin Avenue, Melk-sham.
The case was adjourned until a trial on October 10.
Caven was released on bail on condition he did not have contact with prosecution witnesses.
