IT WAS saddening to read the article about the fencing of the Trowbridge Town field in North Bradley. The picture gives the impression of a school bully: “We have possession and you can go ............”.
I thought that there was still room for discussion. Representatives from the football club and Trowbridge Town Council (which appears to be the club landlord) were to be invited to the next meeting of North Bradley Parish Council on September 4. At that meeting I would have hoped that a compromise would have been negotiated, where locals have reasonable access to the field, perhaps not as much as they had in the past, but reasonable. In particular, local children in the Boundary Walk area should have the opportunity of a safe area to run around. The new fence is intended to stop that.
The club has the opportunity to removing its ‘bad neighbour’ image. I hope that it takes it.
