FOR a body focused on the past, Bradford Preservation Trust seems to have an increasingly short memory (Trust plan is clear, WT Letters, August 12).
Understandably, perhaps, it appears to have forgotten saying – way back in June, in its ‘vote for no bridge’ leaflet, that its beam concept was ‘as ready to go’ as the Wiltshire Council-approved cablestay design. It wasn’t, and still isn’t.
But can it really have forgotten last month’s claim (BradfordonAvon.com, July 24) that its committee-designed hump “has successfully undergone ‘pre-application’ consultations with the relevant officers”? It hadn’t, despite repeated invitations from those officers. The trust had publicly to retract its claim at a council meeting two days after making it.
