A MAN who threatened a petrol station employee with a brick before making off with £80 in cash has been sentenced to nearly three years in jail.
Ashley Watson, 24, walked into the Texaco garage in Trowbridge Road on the night of September 9 and threatened a female member of staff with the brick, demanding cash from the till.
The terrified employee complied and Watson made off with £80, but was caught on CCTV and later arrested.
On Monday Watson, who had since moved to Sandgate, Lower Stratton, Swindon, from Bradford on Avon, pleaded guilty to one charge of robbery at Salisbury Crown Court.
He was sentenced to two years and nine months in jail by judge Andrew Barnett.
