SOLICITORS in Wiltshire are backing the county’s Wildlife Trust this month by offering a will writing discount if people consider leaving a legacy to help protect the county’s flora and fauna.

Kingfishers and other wetland birds are now stretching their wings and scooting over the waters of the south Wiltshire nature reserve of Langford Lakes, near Warminster, 10 years after legacies helped the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust buy the former trout fishery.

Legacies also played a part in securing a future for both the Langford Lakes and Lower Moor Farm nature reserve, near Malmesbury, according to Matthew Powell, the trust’s fund-raising officer.

He said: “We are encouraging wildlife-lovers to make a will and, after looking after their loved ones, consider a gift that will help protect nature.”
