Wiltshire fire personnel are taking part in a 24-hour cycling challenge this weekend to raise money for charity.
The route will take in all 24 of Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service’s fire stations, starting and finishing at Trowbridge.
More than a dozen cyclists have already signed up to do the whole route – more than 190 miles – while others will join for individual stages.
Organiser Andy Mumford said: "We don’t want this to be a race, so we’ve set out timings for when we intend to arrive at each fire station.
"Some of the stages are quite easy, the shortest is only 3.1 miles, while the longest is nearly 15 miles and that’s in the early hours of Sunday morning between Ramsbury and Stratton.
"We’ve asked those taking part to raise sponsorship, so we’re hopeful of collecting a decent sum!"
The cycle challenge is the first of a series of fundraising events being organised by staff at Trowbridge fire station to mark the 50th anniversary of the facility being at its current location on Hilperton Road.
As well as supporting the Fire Fighters Charity, money will be raised for five local good causes – Wiltshire Air Ambulance, SWIFT Medics, Hope Nature Centre, Stepping Stones pre-school and Dorothy House Hospice.
