AFTER nearly 18 hours of continuous rain it’s hard to believe that the match at Yatton Road, Biddestone is still going ahead.
Defending Premier Division champions Biddestone Social will win the title tonight if they beat FC Bradford, who are the only side who could deny them back-to-back titles.
But after Sunday’s results that is very unlikely unless Pete Collier’s visitors to Yatton Road can conjure up something special and claim a victory that would leave Biddestone needing to beat Bug & Spider on Sunday to regain the trophy they won for the first time last term.
Biddestone moved to the top of the table for the first time since October at the weekend after they beat Westbury Rangers A 3-1 and Bradford were beaten 4-1 away at Bug & Spider.
The previous game between the teams saw Biddestone win 6-5 back in October and if Dan Lardner’s hosts can pick up where they left off from on Sunday then the title will be theirs.
It is hard to see Bradford bouncing back from their defeat although they will no doubt give it their best shot.
But even to finish the season as top flight runners up will be a huge achievement for the Bradfordians.
