Trowbridge Lions are preparing for their May Day Fair extravaganza once again.

The fun-filled day of events in Fore Street on Saturday, May 5 will be opened by the new town mayor, with a performance by the Wiltshire Youth Marching Band.

There will be more than 20 stalls from charities, organisations and schools, while entertainment will include barber shop quartet A Cut Above, Holt Morris Men, Wiltshire Belly Dance and Young Shamrock Irish Dancers. There will also be farmyard animals on display by Larkrise Community Farm who will let children pet the animals.

Town crier Trevor Heeks said: “People can even get involved with the belly dancers and try it if they want to.

“The petting station is really good for the kids. Many children have never even seen a farm animal so them being able to pet a few is what it is all about.”

The event will run from 10am to 4pm.
