Students and staff at St Laurence School in Bradford on Avon celebrated record GCSE results on Tuesday.
For the first time the school has 76 per cent of students achieving at least five A*-C grades, including English and maths, beating a previous high of 69 per cent in 2007.
High achiever Ethan Bateson, 16, from Bradford on Avon, collected 10 A*s and two As, the school’s ‘top’ student.
He said: “Some of the exams were a bit of a challenge, but I was happy with most of them. I am pleased with how my results have turned out.
“We get very good teaching here and I am hoping to stay on.”
Also successful were students Greg Kay, 16, and Will Beckett, 16, who both achieved a tally of eight A*s and five As.
Headmaster James Colquhoun said: “The overwhelming majority of our students deserve huge praise for their GCSE endeavour and success.
“We can now look forward to the largest Sixth Form.
“It all goes to show how the young people of St Laurence, with the focus and enthusiasm of highly committed staff, can and do achieve outstanding results these days."
