A WILTSHIRE man who hit a cyclist in Corsham has been banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £250 compensation to the victim.
Shaun Higginson, 34, of Coppice Close, Chippenham, was also fined £85, told to pay a £95 victim surcharge, and given a 12-month community service order which includes unpaid work.
Higginson had pleaded guilty at Salisbury law court to four offences relating to an incident on Pickwick Road, Corsham, on February 23 in which a cyclist was injured.
He was charged with driving without due care and attention, failing to stop, failing to report and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
The cyclist suffered injuries including grazing to the left knee and hip, a swollen left elbow, a wound to the right calf, a sprained left wrist, pain to hips and soft tissue damage and or bruising.
