THE mother of a Warminster schoolgirl who was diagnosed with leukaemia aged just three years old is giving back to childhood cancer charity CLIC Sergeant by running the London Marathon in April.

Lisa Chowdhry, 49, is aiming to raise £2,000 for the charity as a thank you for the help her family has received.

Miss Chowdhury’s daughter, Charlotte, who is now seven and goes to Princecroft School in Warminster, has been in remission for two years after a long and tough battle with the illness.

Miss Chowdhury said: “It was very scary when Charlotte got diagnosed, I just didn’t know what to do. It was like having a newborn baby again.

“CLIC Sergeant were so good to us, and were always there to answer any questions. I don’t know how we would have coped without them.

“I know I am very lucky and I want to give something back.”
