STUDENTS at Matravers School who have reading difficulties such as dyslexia will benefit from new technology to help their learning after a donation of £1,700 from Westbury Lions.
The donation has enabled the school to purchase a set of C-Reader pens, a pen scanner which reads text out loud and also has a built in dictionary for those who struggle with reading.
Headteacher Dr Simon Riding said: “We are delighted and honoured to have received such a wonderful donation from the Lions.
“This will potentially make a huge difference to pupils at the school.”
Matravers School has long established links with the Westbury Lions Club.
They support Westbury and the surrounding family of schools with concerts each year and provide donations to each school in the area.
Matravers School also established its own Leo’s Club to follow in the footsteps of its founding organisation with its own fundraising projects.
