Four Avon Valley Runners travelled to Burrington Combe in Somerset to take part in the 10K multi terrain race organised by Town and Country Harriers.
The race begins with a 3km climb and then takes runners around Beacon Batch, Black Down and Rowberry Warren. In the extremely wet and muddy conditions, Alistair Bartlett, pictured, took advantage of the early leader Vito Graffignino making a wrong turn and finished in an impressive second place in a time of 41:14 behind winner Brian Penny from City of Bath AC. Ian White finished in 20th place overall in 51:09 and picked up the prize for third MV50. Anissia White finished in 60:50 claiming the junior ladies' prize and Barbara White finished nearly two minutes behind in 35th place.
