SECOND half goals from Mark Salter and Matt Peters saw Frome claim three points against lowly Street on Wednesday.
The Robins dominated the first half and could have had the game wrapped up by the interval.
Simeon Allison and Peters both went close and two further attempts were cleared off the line by the desperate visiting defenders.
After the break Frome continued to pile on the pressure and eventually found the goal their efforts deserved when Salter latched on to Allison's through ball and slotted it past the goalkeeper in the 60th minute.
Five minutes before the end Peters netted to seal the win which saw the Robins go second in the table.
Manager Andy Crabtree said: "We were not playing at our best but we ground out a win, which is really what you have to do because you are never going to play well all the time.
"We dominated for large spells of the game and they only really had one shot which Ray Johnston dealt with comfortably.
"They also hit the post in the dying seconds, but even if that had gone in it would just have been a consolation because the final whistle blew right after it."
