MELKSHAM boss Kelvin Highmore is hoping to get his side back on the goal trail by signing striker Glenn Armstrong from Wiltshire rivals Calne.
The seven days' notice of approach was up on Tuesday, and on Wednesday Highmore tried to contact Armstrong and tempt him to the Conigre to boost his attacking options even further after capturing the signature of Aaron Billet.
Said Highmore: "We've been winning games 1-0 and missing chances, which we can't afford to keep doing and I think we are still missing bits of the jigsaw.
"Glenn Armstrong is a very good player and I signed him for Calne when I was manager there and he repaid me.
"He's a character and what you see is what you get with him, but his goal-scoring record is second to none."
