NORTH Bradley kept their hopes of lifting the Trowbridge Windows & Conservatories - sponsored Trowbridge League, Division One title alive thanks to 3-2 victory at home to a Hilperton United side, who they defeated 2-1 in a nail-biter at the start of September.
Ben Smith gave Hilperton a 20th-minute lead but Dan Dominy scored three times before a late goal for Bradley King-Taylor made things interesting.
With their Knockout Cup clash against Trowbridge Town Reserves cancelled in midweek, Freshford United were grabbed the chance to catch up on their League fixtures with a rapidly-arranged game at home to Castle Combe, who are to be congratulated on taking the game at short notice.
But after an 11-0 loss at Brown’s Park may wish they hadn’t as the defeat almost certainly ended their slim hopes of a top two finish.
Freshford were at their most deadly in front of goal, Steve Roddy scoring from the penalty spot to give them the lead. Dave Percival made it 2-0 with Nick Ross and Tom Rooney finding the net before Percival scored his second of the afternoon to give the villagers a 5-0 interval lead.
There was no let-up from Freshford in the second period as a second from Roddy made it 6-0 before Elliott Carris-Smith knock in number seven. Dave Percival completed his hat-trick before Dan Fowler bagged himself a brace and Tom Rooney rounded things off with his second of the game and Freshford’s 11th.
