STEVE Ojomoh was at a loss to explain Trowbridge’s slow start to the season after they were hammered at Swindon to slip to a second straight loss.

The Doric Park outfit were also slow out of blocks in 2014-15 and Ojomoh says he put plans in place to be better this time around.

However, they have failed to come to fruition and Ojomoh is eager to get his troops back on the training ground to set things right.

“I wanted to avoid this because we were zero for two last season. We just don’t start well,” said Ojomoh.

“We tried all sorts of things, like taking on more games to hit the ground running but it just hasn’t come through for us.

“But there are still 20 more games at least to go and the lucky thing is we can always look to put it right on the training field.

“We have got a lot of work to do, it will be difficult having shipped this many points, but we will come back.”

The visitors actually started well and Aaron Bray and Shane Johnstone both touched down in the opening 10 minutes, although Adam Westall got over the whitewash for Swindon in between.

From there, though, it was one-way traffic as the hosts ran in a perfect ten tries in all. Adam Dobbie led the way with four, Oliver Wilson got three, while Jordan Sheppard and Josh Jensen were also able to dot down.

Trowbridge were only able to make an impact on scoreboard once more themselves, with Mark Durant touching down in the second half.

“The scoreboard doesn’t lie, they played well and we are disappointed all round,” added Ojomoh.

“Given what we did in the first half, if we’d come away with something - like a point - then you’d say fair enough, that’s where we are disappointed.

“It’s about momentum and if you miss your tackles then you are going to get punished and we certainly were.”
