WARMINSTER Town manager Mark Breffit has claimed that consistency is the key if they want to make a success of their Toolstation First Division campaign.

In recent years, Town have struggled domestically and have found it hard to get out of the bottom half.

However, thanks to a much bigger squad, including new signings Paddy Carrig, Kevin Shin and Ryan Baggs, Breffit has his eye on a mid-table finish.

“Pre-season has been alright, we have had some tough games and the players have made a few little mistakes,” the Warminster manager said.

“But that is expected as we are asking them to do something different this year.

“I want us to finish mid-table, but we need to be more consistent. We are asking them to do something different so it will take time.

“We have a much bigger squad this year, we have a lot of players signed on but about 20 of them are up to standard.

“A bigger squad means we have cover for when players are injured or unavailable and competition for places means better performance.

“We have been doing a lot of team bonding to get the players to get on, it’s about being a team, not strangers.”

Breffit’s men start their league campaign by welcoming local rivals Calne Town to Weymouth Street tomorrow.

“It’s nice that we start off at home because the pitch is looking good, Calne are always well organised so it should be a good game, we have a good chance and hopefully we can get a win.”
