FROME Town were able to remain unbeaten throughout December as a depleted side claimed a 1-1 draw with Basingstoke Town.

Manager Josh Jeffries had a selection headache ahead of the clash as Jon Davies and Darren Jefferies were both suspended.

His team were also without injured trio Dan Cleverley, Jordan Walker and Mitchell Page, while Kyle Phillips, Chris Gregan and Aidan Kirby were all unavailable.

It was the visitors who made the breakthrough early on when Aaron Jarvis side-footed the ball past Carl Crabtree in the 13th minute.

The score remained at 1-0 until Mike Bryant popped up with the equaliser in the 64th minute, much to the delight of the Frome boss.

“I thought it was going to be one game too many, but I am pleased with the result,” said Jeffries.

“Once you get on a run it helps, but the players have been magnificent this year so it was nice to finish on a result like that.

“You never know what is going to happen on a Boxing Day game, so it was difficult to read.

“At the start of December we knew we were going to have a tough month, so to go unbeaten is testament to the players.”
