FROME Town got back to winning ways this week with a 3-1 win over Stratford Town on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts were without manager Josh Jeffries after he served the last game of his two-match stadium ban, but that did effect his side too much as they claimed another win.

It was through fortune they took the lead when Jean Kallenda put the ball in his own net in the third minute of the game when he got on the end of a Jon Davies corner.

The home side then began to tighten their grip on the game and soon added a second in the 34th minute from the spot.

The referee referee adjudged that Stratford’s William Grocott had handled the ball while seeing a corner out of play and Jon Davies scored low into the corner from the spot to give Frome a 2-0 lead.

They were then able to hold that lead until the break, much to the pleasure of the fans, who saw their side lose 4-1 away to Kettering last time out.

Just after the hour mark Frome came close again, this time it was Jake Jackson who was guilty of not killing off the visitors after he rounded the keeper, but couldn’t apply the finish.

As the game entered it’s latter stages Jeffries’ men should have really been out of sight, however they were finally rewarded for their persistence when they grabbed a third goal in the 85th minute.

The move stemmed from substitute James Fitzgibbon who won the ball in his own half before he was able to pass it on to Jackson.

From here Jackson was able to pick out an incoming Davies, who coolly slotted the ball into the net to seal all three points.
