AFTER a crisis week that saw Frome Town manager Josh Jeffries and two senior players resigning, the Robins just about managed to get a squad together to travel to Hitchin Town in Southern League Premier Division on Saturday, but the match was a predictably one-sided affair as the hosts ran out easy 5-1 winners.
With manager Jeffries, goalkeeper Kyle Phillips and top scorer Jon Davies having departed during the week, Frome just managed to put 11 players on the pitch, with Sam Teale taking over the interim manager role from his lonely position on the substitutes bench.
Frome trailed by just a single goal at the break as Tremayne Charles gave Hitchin the lead but when Connor Roberts turned into his own net a minute into the second half, the floodgates opened.
Charles soon got his second, followed by efforts for Connor Vincent and Hugo Logan, with Joshua Brace's stoppage-time strike nothing more than a consolation for Frome.
