FRESHFORD United were crowned Division One champions on Saturday afternoon following their 3-1 triumph at Brown’s Park over Luxol St Andrews, the only side who could have denied them the title.
Freshford were 1-0 down in the opening minute when a defensive mix-up led to Josh Hard giving Luxol the early advantage.
Dave Percival set Dean Ranger up to restore parity and Alfie Little benefited from an Eddie Katumba assist as he fired Freshford ahead prior to half-time.
Early in the second half Freshford wrapped up the win when Ali Jaffari beat the Luxol keeper from 45 yards to seal their third title success in five years.
Relegation was confirmed for Trowbridge Town Reserves after they suffered a 6-0 loss to Stockton & Codford.
Brendan Hind, a back-heeled finish from Sam Dufosee and a comical own goal from Jason Harvey put Stockton 3-0 up at half-time.
Jayson Stokes, Liam Gibbens and Chris Bridel’s penalty after the break kept the villagers in the hunt for the runners up spot.
Hilperton United's 2-1 victory at Warminster Town Reserves was the villagers' fifth on the bounce.
Alfie Francis and Graham Griffiths scored before Ashley Wain replied for the hosts in the second period.
