Swindon Town have been drawn against National League side Aldershot Town in the First Round of the FA Cup.

Town will be at home in the cup for the first time since they took on Manchester City in the Third Round in 2021, with the game taking place on the weekend of the 3rd to 6th November.

The Shots defeated Lewes FC 4-1 in the Fourth Qualifying Round to secure their progression to the First Round Proper and currently sit ninth in the National League.

Swindon have not faced Aldershot since 2012 when they denied Paolo Di Canio's side promotion back to League One with a 2-1 defeat at The Recreation Ground, with Town later earning their promotion at Gillingham.

The last time Aldershot managed to progress beyond the First Round of the FA Cup was in 2014/15 when they knocked out Portsmouth after a replay before being defeated by Oldham Athletic in the next round, also requiring a replay.

Town have not fared much better in this competition in recent years, having only made it to the Second Round on three occasions in the last ten years.

However, they will be hoping that Michael Flynn's cup wizardry will rub off on them as he has never failed to make it to the Third Round in his managerial career.
