Swindon Town will have to be without Tom Brewitt for the second consecutive match as they visit Milton Keynes Dons this weekend.

The defender had played every second of the season before he had to come off against Salford City due to a concussion and he missed the midweek defeat to Gillingham through suspension.

Flynn had previously been hopeful that Brewitt would be ready for the game this weekend, speaking ahead of Tuesday’s game he said, “There is a [concussion] protocol [that Brewitt will have to go through], but thankfully as long as he continues as he is then he will be fine for the weekend.”

But ahead of the trip to Stadium MK, Flynn ruled the defender out of contention.

He said: “[In terms of injuries, we are] the same, Jake [Cain] and Tom won’t be available tomorrow, and Reece [Devine] and Benn Ward are out.

“[With Brewitt] it is more 50-50 and we can’t take any risks with somebody’s health, it is as simple as that.

“It is one game and we are as professional as we can be, so it is best to give Tom those extra few days to recover and it gives him that extra bit of confidence that everything is fine.

“He has been very good for us, so he will be frustrated, but he knows that this is in his best interests and that it is the right thing to do.”

Swindon will also be without their leading assister and second top goal scorer Dan Kemp as he is on loan from MK Dons, but Flynn says that his team is well prepared to cope with his absence.

He said: “We have worked on a lot of different things throughout the preseason, even the other night [against Gillingham] we went to a four for the last 20 minutes.

“The players are comfortable, and I have technically good players and it is not like you are asking them to do something that is completely foreign to them.

“We have gone through all the eventualities of what we might do, so whatever we do tomorrow it will be about winning the football match.

“I will only do things that I think will help us to win the game, I can’t do anything about missed chances and poor ones we give away, that comes down to individual responsibility.

“Nobody means to make mistakes, but those are things we need to get better at.”
