Liam Kinsella felt that Swindon Town showed "too much respect" to Milton Keynes Dons during their 3-2 League Two defeat.

The midfielder started his second league game of the season at Stadium MK as Swindon struggled to find any fluency.

Kinsella said that Town allowed MK Dons too much of the ball and the ability to dictate the game as Swindon failed to win for a sixth straight away game.

He said: "In the first half I think we showed them [MK Dons] a bit too much respect and let them have too much of the ball, and letting them drive forward.

"We said at half time that we needed to come out and be in their faces, we did that in the first ten minutes and we were rewarded with a goal.

"When we got the goal we were on top and we needed to take advantage of that more and get another goal to turn the tide for us.

"But then we conceded another goal, from our point of view we could do something about it.

"We needed to try and react and keep going at that point.

"When you get back in the game and it goes to 1-1, it is there for the taking and you can go and win the game.

"When they nick the second one it is about starting again and trying to do what we had done in the second half.

"When you are going to try and win the game you leave spaces for the counter attack and they took advantage of that."

Michael Flynn decided to switch formations for the start time this season as Swindon went for a midfield diamond instead of a 352, enabling Kinsella to come into the team.

He said: "We played the diamond today and that is all about moving, trying to get out wide, and trying to get on the ball, and leave space for others in the attacking third.

"I had to do what I had to do for the team and put a shift in.

"I just have to take every game as it comes and be patient and wait for my chance, when it is there I have to try and take it and play well.

"That is what I am going to do, I have been patient all season waiting for my chance.

"I got a chance today and unfortunately it didn't go the way we wanted it to as a team."
