Swindon Town have now won just one of their last six matches as they were defeated 3-2 on the road against Milton Keynes Dons.

Max Dean put the hosts ahead before Jake Young levelled the scores shortly after the break. Warren O’Hora’s cool finish and a George McEachran own-goal put MK Dons out of sight before Frazer Blake-Tracy headed in a stoppage time consolation.

So, how did the players get on as individuals at Stadium MK?

GK: Murphy Mahoney – 7

Mahoney conceded three goals but he only had a prayer of saving the first after many errors were made in front of him. The scoreline would have looked much worse had he not made three or four outstanding saves. He was also one of very few Swindon players who kept their composure on the ball.

RB: Remeao Hutton – 5

He was probably the most threatening player throughout, but that was saying very little in a performance in which Town were very blunt.

CB: Udoka Godwin-Malife – 3

Godwin-Malife is normally so good on the ball, but his decision-making was very off and he gave the ball away in silly areas multiple times. This combined with several defensive errors created by far his worst performance in a Town shirt.

CB: Tom Clayton – 3

Not the first start he would have been hoping for. The first half was uneventful from both sides, but the chances that did come were generally Dean being given too much space either in front or behind Clayton. The hope is that this was just ring rust after a long injury and he will be back to himself soon.

LB: Frazer Blake-Tracy – 4

He gets the goal at the end, but the Swindon left flank was exposed all afternoon. The communication between him and Clayton and then with Tyrese Shade was not good enough and that allowed Alex Gilbey to run riot.

CDM: Saidou Khan – 6

When the defenders were running forward, you could see Khan respond and drop back in to cover. He was solid in midfield on an afternoon when Swindon very much weren’t.

CM: Liam Kinsella – 5

Kinsella started this game rather well and was finding a lot of space to link play. His energy was impressive, but he could not sustain it across the whole match.

CM: George McEachran – 5

Heavily involved in both goals with his slick passing that when it came off was good to watch. Ultimately this only happened a handful of times and defensively he was often given the run around.

CAM: Tyrese Shade – 3

He was very ineffectual whilst he was playing attacking midfield and then he was not helped by having to play left-back in the second half.

ST: Charlie Austin – 4

Much like Shade, this game largely passed Austin by. His movement further away from goal had no real impact and he was unable to get on the end of anything in the box.

ST: Rushian Hepburn-Murphy – 5

He was more dangerous than his fellow attackers by virtue of his speed running in behind. However, when he got there he was not able to make anything happen as he was crowded out.

Subs:

Jake Young – 6

It was great to see Young get back on the scoresheet and with an excellent goal as well. Swindon will need this to build his confidence back up as the season is fading fast right now.

Miles Obodo – N/A
