Wrexham AFC are reportedly plotting a six-figure swoop for Swindon Town midfielder Saidou Khan in the January transfer window.

According to reports from Pete O’Rourke at Football Insider, the Gambian international could be on his way to North Wales when the transfer window opens in January.

Khan joined Town for an undisclosed fee from Chesterfield in the summer of 2022 and has gone on to make 51 league appearances for the club as well as earning international recognition from The Gambia.

The midfielder will have six months to run on his contract when the window opens, and Wrexham could look to tempt Swindon to part with Khan with a reported fee in the region of £350,000.

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson is supposedly a big fan of Khan’s and tried to lure him to STōK Cae Ras on deadline day in the summer, but the move did not go through.

Khan is likely to be unavailable for whichever team he is playing for during January as he looks to be selected by Tom Saintfiet for the African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

The 27-year-old has been an ever-present in the Swindon team under Michael Flynn this season, starting 16 times in League Two this term.
