Swindon Town have announced the signing of Republic of Ireland youth international Dawson Devoy on loan from Milton Keynes Dons.
The 22-year-old midfielder has joined until the end of the season having struggled for game time under Mike Williamson and Graham Alexander this season.
Devoy was a breakout star in the League of Ireland having broken through at his boyhood club Bohemians, where he would feature in both the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League, as well as winning the PFAI Young Player of the Year award and being included in the PFAI Team of the Season in 2021.
The seven-cap Republic of Ireland under-21 international scored eight goals and got two assists in 22 appearances the following season before making the switch to Stadium MK in July 2022 and was a regular fixture in League One last season, earning 43 appearances for the Dons.
However, with game time more limited this term, he has appeared just 14 times across all competitions as he got assists in both of his Bristol Street Motors Trophy appearances, he has now made the switch to the County Ground and now joins up with Michael Flynn’s squad until the end of the current campaign.
