Swindon Town have announced that defender Williams Kokolo has agreed a new contract that will last until the end of the season.

Kokolo joined Town in November and has started every game except one since, missing out against Forest Green Rovers due to illness, showing his quality as a left wing-back and also versatility by filling in at centre-back.

The defender initially agreed to a deal that was set to expire during January, but he has committed himself to Swindon until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old came through the academy set-up with AS Monaco and has since had spells at Sunderland, Middlesbrough, and Burton Albion prior to joining Town

Upon extending his deal with the club, Kokolo said to club media: "Firstly, thank you to the club and to the gaffer for giving me a new contract.

"I've really enjoyed my time here so far and I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest of this season holds for me and for the team.

"I hope we can look to build on a good second half to the season as we look to kick on and push for promotion as there is a lot of games still to play."
