Michael Flynn said that he was optimistic that he could have two players back from injury in time to face Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

Swindon Town have been suffering from an extensive injury list for many weeks, having had as few as 13 first-team players available for some games this season.

However, the injury crisis appears to be easing as Flynn said that there was a chance that Frazer Blake-Tracy and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy could be available for selection at the Mornflake Stadium this weekend.

Hepburn-Murphy has been out since November as a persistent knee injury has seen him in too much discomfort to play.

Blake-Tracy has been out after he had to go off injured against AFC Wimbledon with a hamstring injury.

Flynn said: “Rushian and Frazer have trained all week and now we just have to be sure that we do not push it that little bit too much.

“We will reassess them again today, I know everyone will say that one day won’t make much difference, but we will assess them and speak to the players and then we will make a decision over whether they are involved tomorrow or not.

“We will have a stronger squad tomorrow than we have been able to have for a while.

“We have had our bad patch in terms of luck, I am hoping it doesn’t happen again but never say never because that is out of our control.

“What we can do, like I said with Rushian and Fraser, for the sake of one game I might not be risking them but if they are ready then they will be involved.

“We have been through it and now there is light at the end of the tunnel, we are starting to get players in and get them back, so let’s kick on and start being positive.”

Dawson Devoy will be in line to make his debut on loan from Milton Keynes Dons and Flynn is excited for him to get the chance to show his ability.

He said: “He has trained really well and you can see he is a goal threat and he is technically a good player.

“He has a lot to do before I compare him to Dan Kemp, because for me he is the best player in the league, but Dawson has a chance to make his own mark and get the fans to fall in love with him like they did with Dan Kemp.”
