Michael Flynn said that Remeao Hutton was excluded from the Swindon Town squad to face Crewe Alexandra as he was not in the right frame of mind.

Hutton was the last remaining Town player to have played every second of the season prior to their visit to the Mornflake Stadium where he was excluded from the squad entirely.

In the absence of League Two’s leading crosser, Swindon were defeated 2-1 by Crewe Alexandra having managed just two accurate crosses during the match.

Flynn said that the defender was not injured for the game and had not been included because of his mindset for the game not being correct.

He said: “I can only pick players who are in the right frame of mind to pull on the shirt and that is whether it is Charlie Austin, Jack Bycroft, Dokes [Udoka Godwin-Malife], Remeao, Liam Kinsella, or anyone.

“If they are not in the right frame of mind to pull on the shirt then I can’t pick them.

“[Asked if that means he is being sold] That is your job to report on and dig deep on, for me that is out of my hands, and I can only pick players who are in the right frame of mind.”

Hutton’s exclusion from the squad came with rumours of a potential exit being on the cards with six months remaining on his contract.

There were suggestions on social media that he will be joining League Two leaders Stockport County, with the 25-year-old’s hometown club Walsall also being linked with him.

On Friday, Flynn revealed that Swindon had received bids for some players in their squad and that outgoings were possible were the club’s valuation of certain players to be met.

He said: “There have been one or two offers for our players, so there has been that.

“[Outgoings] have nothing to do with me, that is above my paygrade, so if the club gets an offer for a player and it meets the valuation then every player has their price, I am sure.

“If an offer comes in then it will be dealt with by the board, and we will go from there.

“For the potential players that could go, I have already in my head got a list of replacements that we could go for to rectify that and hopefully strengthen us. It doesn’t always work like that because it depends on the player who goes.”
