Swindon Town goalkeeper Lewis Ward looks set to complete a move to Charlton Athletic, according to multiple reports.

Look Sports Media and Pete O'Rourke of Football Insider have both reported that the goalkeeper is on his way out of the County Ground.

Ward re-joined Swindon in the summer having departed the previous summer for Sutton United, making five league appearances during his second spell in Wiltshire as cover for the injured Murphy Mahoney.

The 'keeper proved to be the hero in Town's last game of the year as he saved Matty Stevens' stoppage-time penalty to preserve a 2-1 win over Forest Green Rovers.

However, the 26-year-old was replaced in the Swindon team to face Crewe Alexandra on Saturday by new signing Jack Bycroft.

Ryan Whelan of Look Sports Media said that Ward is on the verge of a move to The Valley on a free transfer as his deal with Swindon was on non-contract terms, allowing him to walk away should another offer come along.

O'Rourke said that the deal was advanced to the point that he was completing his medical with the League One club as he is to provide cover to the Addicks' current goalkeeping options Ashley Maynard-Brewer and Harry Isted.
