Swindon Town have confirmed that defender Remeao Hutton has joined League Two rivals Gillingham for an undisclosed fee.

Hutton joined Town in the summer of 2022 and has gone on to make 76 appearances for the club and has registered 18 assists in that time, seeing him set up the second most goals in English football’s top four divisions during 2023, level with Mohamed Salah and just one behind Leif Davis.

The 25-year-old also scored his first goal in the Football League during his stint with Town, firing home from the edge of the box to equalise during a 2-2 draw against Salford City this season.

He now joins former Swindon teammate Jonny Williams at Priestfield with the Gills sat just one point outside the play-off places in League Two having won their last three matches in the league.

Upon joining Gillingham, Hutton told club media: "Everyone seems really friendly here so I can't wait to get going. The new owners are looking to grow the club and I want to be a part of that.

"I know a few of the lads already so that was a factor in coming here. I want to create as many chances as possible."
