Jack Bycroft said that he was desperate to achieve something during his time with Swindon Town following their 0-0 draw with Stockport County.

The former Southampton goalkeeper had his best display in a Swindon shirt at Edgeley Park, pulling off eight saves notable ones to deny Paddy Madden and Fraser Horsfall in order for Town to walk away with a point.

The boyhood Swindon fan said that he was very focused on making sure that he can produce something big during his time at the County Ground.

He said: “Like I said not too long ago, the players in this league are a step up, like it would be when you go up the league.

“I am enjoying it and I feel like I am adapting to it well and hopefully we will be able to kick on with the boys soon.

“It is no secret that I want to be here and I want to achieve something with Swindon.

“I really, really enjoy playing for this club because it means a lot [to me], so I want to keep playing, I want to nail down that number one spot and I want to push up the league with the boys.”

In a season of few clean sheets for Swindon, Bycroft has picked up too so far, against Bradford City and then again against Stockport, and he said that being able to do that showed that the team were heading in the right direction.

He said: “Coming away to top of the league you would take a point before the game, they had a few chances in there and maybe we could have nicked something at the end.

“But we kept the ball out of the net and came away with a deserved point today.

“I have had a few new bodies in front of me and a few new partnerships, so to keep a clean sheet I am always going to be buzzing.

“I think that wherever I have played football, but especially here, clean sheets are special.

“That is what we play for, if we keep the ball out of the net then I back the boys to be able to put it in at the other end, so I love it.

“It is my job, so I am happy to contribute to the team and we all put a solid performance in today, so we earned it.”
