LANDSEND Fishery was in good shape for the weekend open match, with carp feeding well.

Bela Bakos, of Sarfix SW, gained a runaway win with an all-carp catch weighing 131lb 8oz, taken on long-pole fished pellets. Rod Wooten, of Dynamite Frys MG, was second with a carp catch weighing 79lb 12oz, taken on waggler-fished pellets. He was followed by Brian Slipper, of Sensas Thyers, with a carp catch weighing 74lb 12oz, taken on pole-fished pellets.

The silver fish prize went to Terry Niblet, of Team Sillybait, with a weight of 20lb 6oz.

Other placings: 4 Tom Pallant, Maver Veals, 70lb 2oz; 5 Andy Palmer, 64lb 4oz; 6 Brian Shanks, Avon Angling, 63lb 8oz.

Two wins in a row for Bruton

STOKE St Michael veteran Terry Bruton made it two wins in a row by taking top spot again in the Bathampton over 55s/disabled match fished at Bridge Pool on Thursday.

Fishing at permanent peg number 44 on the far side Bruton took an all-carp catch weighing 69lb 10oz, fishing with waggler and hair rigged pellets. Runner-up spot went to Bob Price, from Bristol, with a carp catch weighing 50lb 5oz, taken alternating with pole-fished bread flake and legered pellets.

Ian Sheppard, from Bristol, was third with a carp catch weighing 45lb 1oz, taken on waggler-fished pellets.

Mike Nicholls, from Bitton, took the silver fish prize with an all-roach catch weighing 15lb 8oz, taken on pole-fished casters.
