BRADFORD TOWN missed out on the chance to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat at home to Hengrove Athletic after their match at Shrewton United was postponed on Tuesday.

A waterlogged pitch meant that the game was called off on Tuesday afternoon.

“It would have been nice to play again after getting beat on the weekend,” said Manager Paul Shanley.

“The weather was pretty atrocious though and it would have been a bit of a lottery.”

Bradford were beaten 2-1 by Hengrove on Saturday with defender Dan Shanley sent off as both sides finished with ten men.

A first-minute goal from Ben Crewe and a Ricky Charlton free-kick were enough for Hengrove whilst goalkeeper Simon Crawford also saw red.

Midfielder Gavin Eyre scored Bradford’s only goal with a free-kick.

Shanley says that his side’s next three games could shape their season.

Ninth-placed Bradford take on Gillingham Town on Saturday, followed by second-placed Odd Down and third-placed Westbury United.

“We have to be looking to win those games,” he said.

“We’ve lost some silly games this season and we really need to bounce back and push up the league.”

Shanley will be without defenders Tom Rooney and Matt Penman for the visit of Gillingham on Saturday.
