FROME TOWN manager Darren Perrin has warned his side to keep thier feet on the ground after they extended their unbeaten league run to ten-matches with a 3-0 win over Uxbridge on Tuesday night.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d go ten games unbeaten,” he said.
“The boys dserve all the praise in the world but as soon as people start thinking we’ve already done it all - that’s when things will start to go wrong.”
The hosts had the ball in the net early in the second half after a free-kick but the goal was ruled out for a foul in the area.
The scare galvanised Frome who took the lead through Luke Ballinger.
Almost straight from the restart, Frome thought they’d been awarded a penalty after Ricky Hulbert was hauled down by Uxbridge’s Max Howell - who saw red for his challenge on the edge of the penalty area.
The referee consulted his linesman and gave a free-kick instead.
Frome’s top scorer Ballinger grabbed his second of the game midway through the second half before Mark Salter grabbed the third for Perrin’s men to seal a comprehensive victory.
Perrin has revealed that he hopes to complete the signing of an unamed player from Conference South side Weymouth before Saturday’s local derby with Yate Town.
