DARREN Perrin has made moves to strengthen his squad ahead of what could be a defining month for Frome’s season.

Perrin has seven-day approaches in for Corsham Town striker Adam Heath and Radstock Town’s former Bolton Wanderers youth teamer George Pawley.

Town left-back Greg Lake meanwhile, is the subject of an approach from Conference North side Gloucester City.

Perrin hopes his player will stay as Frome face three of the top six in the next month, starting with a trip to Cirencester Town tomorrow.

The Robins made it 19 league games unbeaten since Perrin took charge in September with a 3-1 victory over Uxbridge on Wednesday – a run which continues to have the manager shaking his head in disbelief.

“It’s phenomenal – whichever league you are in to go 19 games unbeaten is a magnificent achievement,’’ he said.

“I hope the players start getting some of the credit they deserve because it’s almost beyond belief really.’’

Inevitably that run – and Frome’s rise to fourth in the table – means talk of an end-of-season play-off place is growing.

But Perrin insists he is not indulging in any kidology when he dampens down such talk.

“We’re almost a victim of our own success now because the goalposts have changed,’’ he said.

“I still don’t see it (being play-off contenders). I see us as a top eight side – but where we have come from is remarkable.’’

Ben Thomson, Jamie Cheeseman and Luke Ballinger netted to down a dangerous Uxbridge side.

Matt Minnis, Alex Lapham, Mike Perrott and Callum Henry all missed that game – but are set to return for the Cirencester trip, with a visit to Taunton Town due in midweek.
