WARMINSTER Town failed to build on their weekend win on the Isle of Wight as they lost their Wiltshire derby on Tuesday night.
Jason Guy’s men, 2-1 winners at East Cowes Victoria on Saturday, made the worst possible start at Amesbury and were a goal down after the opening two minutes.
Matty Western headed home a free-kick from Ben Pryce to give the hosts the lead, but Warminster levelled midway through the half when Tom Welch fired a shot past keeper Tom Allatt.
Allatt later denied Welch again, but Amesbury regained the lead just under 10 minutes after half time as Danny Western netted his second from a Danny Finnegan cross.
Matty Western made it three with his second from a rebound with 20 minutes to go before Mike Budd fired Warminster’s second.
