ADAM Heath eked out another precious point for Corsham as they held their title-chasing rivals at the Southbank on Wednesday night.

Heath struck to earn a point for Mel Gingell’s men, who had seen their league clash at Radstock called off because of the frost.

It was no more than the home side deserved for a battling performance which saw them strike the woodwork twice in the first half.

Craig Gingell’s header struck the foot of a post to deny Town the opener.

Then George Nash’s skillful volley clipped the top of the crossbar with the goalkeeper beaten.

Welton’s top scorer Dean Evans opened the scoring just after half time when he got on the end of a cross to score his 19th of the campaign.

Corsham levelled matters when Heath cut in from the left and fired a low shot into the corner of the net.

The result left Corsham nine points adrift of safety, although they do have games in hand on most of the sides above them.

Tomorrow’s match against leaders Bideford has been postponed because Town have players involved in Wiltshire U18s action.
