CHRIS Carr admits the lack of a proven finisher is costing his side dear.
Carr watched in disbelief as Trowbridge were hit by a sucker punch on their return to action for the first time since December 12.
Depleted Letcombe only had 11 players and their manager Alan Gifford named himself as substitute.
The visitors dominated the match in Oxfordshire, creating a host of chances in the first half.
But none of them were converted and they paid the price midway through the second half as a free kick from Josh Cottrell wasn’t dealt with and the unmarked Mark Denny made no mistake from eight yards.
Carr groaned: “I couldn’t rip into the lads afterwards because it was their first game in a while but it just highlighted our problem really.
“We haven’t got a natural goalscorer in the team and then one ball down the middle and a mistake cost us.
“We gave a good account of ourselves and it was disheartening to come away with nothing.
“We had plenty of chance but it came down to a lack of composure.’’
The return of Booker Woodford for tomorrow’s clash with Cricklade may help to address the goalscoring problem, while Scott Askew and Tarick Yachou are also available again.
