Castle Combe 4 Chippenham Old Boys 2

CASTLE Combe clinched the Division Three title with victory in their winner-takes-all clash.

Combe got off to the perfect start, scoring within a minute, as Jamie Penton grabbed the goal.

Three minutes later it was all square as Chippenham scored, but with the game being played at a frenetic pace, more goals looked inevitable.

With 22 minutes on the clock Mark Sharratt restored Combe’s lead.

The second half started in much the same way as the first, as it took three minutes for Combe to extend the lead as Sharratt grabbed his second of the game.

With six minutes remaining Chippenham were reduced to 10 men as Rob Hickman pulled down a Combe striker inside the box preventing a certain goal scoring opportunity.

The resulting penalty was saved and, a minute later, it was 4-1 as Ben Pemberton beat the Chippenham keeper with a chip.

With the game now into added time Chippenham pulled a goal back from the spot but Combe held on.

DIVISION ONE

Bromham 0 Freshford United 3

FRESHFORD regained third place in the table on the last day of the season.

Neil Birleson scored the only goal of the first period and they added further goals through Simon Kitchen and Rich Bliha.

Trowbridge Wanderers 4 Bradford United 9

BRADFORD United foiled Trowbridge Wanderers' bid for third place.

The first half belonged to Bradford’s Sam Jordan as he scored all four of their goals, Tom Pang replying for Wanderers.

The second half saw Bradford continue to press for goals and they scored another five from John Baker and two apiece for Luke Davison and Mark Robinson. Wanderers scored three through Pang, David Gray and Mark Scammell.

DIVISION TWO

Heytesbury 1 Westwood Social Club 1

WITH Division Two football guaranteed for both sides, Mark Hicketts scored the only goal of the first half for Heytesbury, Dan Thorn equalising for Westwood in the second.

Foresters FC 6 North Bradley AFC 3

PRESENTED with the Division Two trophy before kick-off, Foresters went on to end the season with a 6-3 win over North Bradley.

Graham Griffiths and Luke Turvey for the Foresters and Vinnie Campbell and Chad Cain for Bradley scored the first-half goal.

The second period saw a determined Foresters take to the field and they dominated the half, scoring a further four goals with a hat-trick from Pat Johnson and one from Paul Walker.

North Bradley’s third goal of the match came from Rob Elliot.
