PICKING the side for this Sunday’s game against Devon in the MCCA Trophy was hard and there were lengthy discussions.

The youngsters that came in against Wales played well and gave us a few headaches and made it a difficult decision.

Unfortunately, a few people will miss out this weekend but if they stay keen and the opportunity comes then they’ll be involved again and hopefully they’ll grab that chance with both hands.

Owen Alsop has played in all our games so far and he’s kept his place after a good 69 not out last time.

Nick Harrison proved that he can take wickets and he’ll also keep his place but Tom Bowler (Corsham) will miss out.

Tom will still come along as the 12th man and he’s been really keen to play for us so he’ll get his chance again soon.

Devon have had the lion’s share of the results against us in the past and a couple of times they’ve hammered us.

They’ve got a strong batting order and when we face them we just seem to freeze for some reason.

We always seem to have an off-day against them and we’ll be looking to put right.

We’ve struggled through our first couple of games but we won so it’s now time to show Devon that playing us isn’t a walkover.

We’re not firing on all cylinders but those two wins have put us in the box seat in terms of making it through to the quarter finals.

In the past two years we’ve won our first two and the third game has been rained off but this time we want to win it.
